Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026 (cloud AI models) · Applies to Pixora for iPhone, iPad and Mac

Short version: Pixora does not collect any data about you. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no Pixora server. Your art stays on your device unless you choose to use a cloud AI model with your own API key.

What stays on your device

Your projects, palettes and settings are saved in Pixora's storage on your device. If you use iCloud or device backups, Apple may include that storage in your backup under Apple's own privacy policy. We never receive a copy.

Photos and files you import

When you import a picture to turn it into pixel art, or open a palette file, Pixora reads only the file you choose, through the system file and photo pickers. Images are processed on your device and are not uploaded anywhere.

AI features

Pixora's AI tools use Apple Intelligence: the on-device Foundation Models framework for text and palettes, and Image Playground for creating sprites. These run on your device. Pixora does not send your art or your prompts to us or to any third-party AI service. When Image Playground is used, Apple's terms and privacy policy for Apple Intelligence apply.

Cloud AI models (Pixora Pro, optional)

With Pixora Pro you can connect your own AI provider: Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), Grok (xAI), Mistral, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, a local Ollama server, or another OpenAI-compatible server you choose. API keys are stored in the Keychain on your device and are never sent to us.

Only when you run an AI tool with one of these models — after Pixora asks for your permission the first time — the current frame (its pixels, layer names and colors), a preview image of it and your written request are sent directly from your device to the provider you picked. Pixora has no server in between and never receives this data. The provider processes it under its own terms and privacy policy, and usage is billed to your account with that provider. With Ollama or a server on your own network, the data stays on that machine. If you don't connect a provider, nothing is ever sent.

Purchases

Pixora Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment; we only learn whether this Apple Account owns Pro, through StoreKit on your device.

Exports and sharing

When you export or share a PNG, GIF or palette, it goes only where you send it with the system share sheet or file dialog.

Data collected

Children

Pixora is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages because it collects nothing from anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
