Where do I get Pixora or the beta?
Pixora is on the App Store. To try new features early, join the TestFlight beta.
Which devices does Pixora run on?
iPhone and iPad with iOS / iPadOS 27 or later, and Macs with macOS 27 or later. One download covers all three.
Why are the AI tools unavailable?
The sparkle tools use Apple Intelligence, which needs a supported device with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings and its models downloaded. Everything else in Pixora works without it.
Where are my projects saved? Can I back them up?
Projects are stored on your device and included in your device backups. To keep a copy elsewhere, export your art as PNG or GIF from the Export button.
How do I make an animation?
Open the timeline, add frames with the + button, and turn on onion skin to see the previous frame while you draw. Set each frame's duration from its menu, then press play. Or try the Animate AI tool on frame 1. The "Sample: Pixo" project on the Home screen is a ready-made example.
Which formats can I export?
PNG images of a frame, PNG sprite sheets, animated GIFs, and GIMP palettes (.gpl). You can scale exports up so pixels stay crisp.
How do I turn a photo into pixel art?
On the Home screen choose New Project from Image, pick a picture, then adjust size, colors and background removal before creating the project.
Are there keyboard shortcuts?
Yes. Press B for the pencil, E for the eraser, G for fill, X to swap colors, hold Space to pan, and ⌘Z / ⇧⌘Z to undo and redo. The full list is in Settings and in the Tools menu on the Mac.
What is Pixora Pro?
A one-time purchase that lets every AI tool run on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Mistral, DeepSeek, OpenRouter or a local Ollama model with your own API key, including free-form edits where the model redraws the pixels itself. Add keys in Settings → AI Models. API usage is billed by the provider to your account (Ollama is free and runs on your computer). Bought on one device, Pro works on all your devices and with Family Sharing; use Restore Purchases if it doesn't show up.
Can I use my Claude or ChatGPT subscription?
No. Pixora needs an API key, for example from the Claude Console (platform.claude.com), the OpenAI Platform or Google AI Studio. Chat subscriptions (Claude.ai, Claude Code, ChatGPT Plus) can't be used in other apps.
